On Monday (July 26), digital banking platform Solarisbank announced it recently raised $224 million from investors with intentions to gain a foothold in the UK market through the acquisition of Contis. Founded in 2016, Solaris, recently valued at approximately 1.65 billion USD after closing the aforementioned Series D funding round, provides banking-as-a-service. After exploring organic growth in the region, Solaris decided to facilitate expansion through acquisition of Contis, a smaller peer in the space.
