Black Ore Technologies, an Austin, TX-based startup developing AI tools for financial services firms, announced it has raised $60 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz and Oak HC/FT. The round, a combined seed and Series A, also saw participation from General Catalyst, Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, SV Angel, and Max Levchin, co-founder of PayPal. Black Ore’s platform, which aims to streamline tasks for accountants and financial professionals, has unveiled its first product, “Tax Autopilot,” which employs AI to simplify tax preparation and review processes by studying federal and state tax codes and regulations.
