Global Payments is nearing a deal to acquire takepayments, a British payment processing company, in a transaction valued at over $250 million. The acquisition would expand Global Payments’ international business and strengthen its presence in providing payment processing services to retailers. Takepayments, formerly known as Payzone UK, has experienced significant growth, with revenue increasing to £52.7 million from £40.8 million between 2021 and 2022, under the ownership of private equity firm Grovepoint.
