Venture capitalist Marc Andreessen, alongside Accolade Partners and Galaxy Digital, were notable investors in crypto VC firm 1kx‘s latest fund, which raised $75 million, with Chris Dixon of Andreessen Horowitz also participating as a limited partner. Despite the recent surge in cryptocurrency values, VC funding has been slower to catch up, maintaining attractive valuations for early-stage rounds, according to 1kx founding partner Lasse Clausen. With a focus on consumer-targeted crypto applications, 1kx has already made approximately five investments from its new fund, adding to its existing portfolio which includes companies like Kiln, Pudgy Penguins, Rarible, and The Sandbox.
