It was reported this week that Goldman Sachs has been sniffing around potential payments technology acquisitions in an effort to enhance its credit-card capabilities. Goldman executives had contemplated acquiring Deserve, a credit-card issuing platform with which the bank already has strong ties. Executives also spoke with payments firms CoreCard and Cardless. According to a Goldman representative, the bank has already developed a platform that can readily integrate with a card issuing engine.
