Ripple, the parent company of the cross-border payments token and protocol XRP, announced it has acquired Metaco, a Swiss cryptographic asset custodian for $250 million. Metaco creates technology that enables the management and storage of digital assets on behalf of financial institutions, including Citi.com, BNP Paribas, and the digital asset division of Societe Generale.
