Hyperbolic, a blockchain-based AI cloud startup, has secured $7 million in seed funding led by Polychain Capital and Lightspeed Faction, with additional contributions from assorted small-check investors. The company’s core offering aims to optimize AI computing by aggregating GPU power and leveraging blockchain for network security. “The ultimate goal of Hyperbolic is not to get bogged down in the minutiae of optimizing AI service performance to compete with web2 companies,” co-founder and CEO, Jasper Zhang told The Block. Hyperbolic aims to create an open AI ecosystem that enhances resource efficiency and promotes widespread participation.
