On Tuesday (Sept. 7) Mastercard announced it would expand its open banking reach through the acquisition of Danish open banking technology company, Aiia. Aiia is one of Europe’s top open banking tech providers, helping to bridge the connection to banks via a single API. Mastercard believes the acquisition will constitute the backbone to its open banking efforts in Europe.
