Shopify (NYSE: SHOP), an e-commerce subscription-based software platform that lets SMEs start and manage their businesses, is in talks to buy tech startup Deliverer in hopes to help the e-commerce company expand its fulfillment services. Delivery works with a variety of e-commerce companies to provide fulfillment, logistics, and shipping services. The transaction might value Deliverr at more than $2 billion. Closely guarded Deliverr assists Amazon, eBay, and other online marketplace sellers in shipping goods to customers in two days or less. Delivery uses analysts to forecast where consumers would want to buy art supplies, makeup, shampoo, and other goods. The information is then used to arrange items in its warehousing network in order to ensure a quick delivery. According to data collated by Bloomberg, if talks are successful, it will be Shopify’s largest-ever deal and will complement the company’s subscription-based software that allows anyone to set up an online store.
